Arlene Barnes

6th Grade

Welcome to Sixth Grade, my name is Mrs. Arlene Barnes! I originally grew up in Colorado, and after raising five children moved to Nebraska to get my teaching degree. I have been teaching since 2003.  As a widow, I am learning to be more dependent on God and his plan for my life and am excited for what he has in store for the upcoming year.

Sixth graders will be busy this year not only learning the standard core subjects, but also will be called to be leaders as they set the example of Christ as they work with the younger students. Along with that they will be doing several service projects in the community and doing different enrichment programs.

I love being a part of CCS. It is a school where people care about people.  We strive to share God not only through our words but through our actions.  CCS is a family that sticks together to educate children in love, faith, and academics.  It was once said that it takes a village to raise a child.  At CCS it takes a family that always put the child first.  Even in the midst of doing math or other subjects, we can lay all that aside to pray for a student who is struggling.  Our students are learning to rely on God in each and every situation, and because of that their performance academically tends to be much stronger.  Many schools only worry about the academics, but they forget that underneath is a child of God who needs to be nurtured from the inside out.

I was led to CCS to be a part of God’s plan. My life revolves around my faith in Jesus Christ and I love to teach, so what better way to combine these two passions.
