My name is Irene Vernon. I have been married for 39 years to my husband Rory and we have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren. In 1988, God led me to purchase Golden Rule Preschool. This building was owned by a church, and I rented the Preschool room from them. Community Christian rented two rooms at that time.This was not what I had planned for my life, but God knew what He was doing. After a few years, Community Christian School asked if I would like to become a part of their school. I agreed, and since that time, I have loved each year more and more. What a long way we have come!
My prayer is that each student will come to know and love Jesus as their Savior, and that He will allow me to be a part of that process. I love meeting all of the new kids and their families each year. I have formed many wonderful, lasting friendships over the years.

The Preschool students will be learning the letters of the alphabet and what each letter says. In numbers, we will learn numbers and concepts 1-15. We play games most days to review what we have learned.
In Prekindergarten, I teach two classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We will learn the name, sound, a clue picture, and how to write each letter as it is learned in phonics class. We will learn numbers, concepts and how to write numbers 1-20, but we count much higher.
Do you want to learn about the Bible? You have come to the right place! We have Bible class every day and work Biblical principles into every aspect of our day. Each student is encouraged to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Some of the first things we learn in my room are to take turns, be polite, share, stand in a line, and raise our hands to be called on. All classes will be learning the months of the year, days of the week, left to right concept, songs, fingerplays, flag salutes, and many other things to make our day well-rounded.
