Physical Education &

Computers

Hi!  I am excited to be gearing up for another fun year of Physical Education at CCS!  This will be my 15th year of teaching, and I am so happy to be spending it with our wonderful Eagles.

I am a native of Mitchell, Nebraska and a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where I received my Master in Physical Education:  Master Teacher.  My husband, Ryan, and I have a daughter who is a college sophomore, and a son who is a sophomore in high school.  We all love to be physically active, and the many farm chores we tend to help to keep us fit!

Physical activity has always been a passion of mine, and I delight in the opportunity to share and learn about how to keep our bodies healthy and able to do Christ’s work!  Having good health is a true blessing, and we strive to learn about many ways we can take care of ourselves and create a lifelong love of physical activity and healthy choices.

CCS is such a special place!  Teachers work together, pray together, and strive to provide a top-notch education…together!  Students are given learning opportunities of all shapes and sizes, and because of this, they are able to meet standards and excel on assessments.  It is a school where students are shown God’s love and grace through daily interactions.  As a teacher, I get to watch them grow in knowledge, faith, and confidence as a child of God.

I am so thankful to be a part of the CCS family!

Deanna Goranson

Music, Speech and Keyboarding

Hello! My name is Deanna Goranson and this is my 4th year at CCS where I teach K-6 music and beginning  band, lead worship for chapel, and help in the library. I’m originally from central Nebraska and came to Scottsbluff to student teacher after finishing classes at Nebraska Wesleyan University. I liked the community so much I never left!  I met my husband, Nick, while working as a substitute for SBPS. He is a science teacher and coach at Scottsbluff High.

By God’s design, my position at CCS just “fell into my lap.” I heard about the position late summer and then applied and was hired the week before school started! I had applied for other teaching positions in the spring, but the Lord had a plan and closed those doors. I’m so glad he did! Working at CCS has been such a blessing to me. I love having an amazing group of like-minded coworkers and being able to tell my kids just how loved they are! There is such peace in knowing you are exactly where you are supposed to be and doing what you were created to do.

If you are considering joining the Community Christian School family, we would love to provide your family with a tour of the campus. Click the button below to reach out and schedule a time to join CCS!
